Theo James Shocks Fans & Announces He's Not Returning to 'Sanditon' After Renewal News
Theo James will not be back on Sanditon, despite the news that the fan favorite show had been saved after a premature cancellation.
The drama had been cancelled after just one season, however, the network had decided to bring it back for two additional seasons following fan support on social media and the popularity it had on PBS.
Following the announcement, Theo then revealed he and his character, Sidney, would not be returning.
“Although I relished playing Sidney, for me, I’ve always maintained that his journey concluded as I wanted it to,” he wrote in the announcement on the show’s official Twitter account. “The broken fairy-tale like ending between Charlotte and Sidney is different, unique and so interesting to me and I wish the cast and crew of Sanditon every success with future series.”
Rose Williams is set to return as Charlotte, however, other cast still have yet to be revealed.
Justin Young will take the role of lead writer and executive producer for the upcoming two seasons and Andrew Davies, who originally created the series, will also return to write several episodes and executive produce.
Sanditon is based on Jane Austen‘s final, and unfinished novel of the same name.
